As Manager of the Inversnecky Cafe, Martins key
responsibilities are "to ensure the café runs smoothly and all our customers
are served promptly, courteously and correctly." However, there is more to
Martin's life than the Cafe. Married to a wonderful girl called Susan with 3
marvellous children, Gwen, Alexander and Cassie. The
running of a busy Café is a full time occupation. Customers just can’t be
trusted to talk to themselves you know! Someone has to stand around and shoot
the breeze with them. Despite this, he still manages to fit in:
- Fencing (Stob and Wire, Barbed, Razor, Electric or simple Paling). Also see the Robert Gordon University Fencing Club Competitions Reports.
- Advanced Squad Leader (Trust me, you don’t want to know).
- Converting people to reading Christopher Brookmyre and Stuart McBride novels.

It is hard to think of what people would like to know when writing this.
Currently we are deciding whether to move house or to extend. We think that movingwould be better but are willing to be persuaded otherwise.
Gwen has reached primary 5 and is enjoying the company at school although the work is not something she particularly enjoys! Her time out of school is taken up with brownies, art class swimming and drama. She has a part in a production of Cind and Ella this December for which I have been “volunteered” to help with the backdrops. I have no experience of that sort of thing so am somewhat floundering around. Still it looks to be exciting and we will see how it goes.
